Beachwise

As our summers get hotter, more and more people are taking their holidays in Britain and Ireland. Visitor numbers to our beaches are increasing, with RNLI lifeguards seeing a rising number of incidents.
You are 500 times less likely to drown at a beach patrolled by lifeguards than you are at a beach with no lifeguards. The Beachwise campaign encourages people to swim at lifeguarded beaches, making sure they and their families have safer and more enjoyable days out.
People in the south west of England can look out for billboards, bus-stop posters and other promotional activity, while beach-lovers around the UK will be kept informed through magazines, newspapers and television programmes.

The RNLI works closely with the Marine Conservation Society, which runs www.goodbeachguide.co.uk. Use this site to find a lifeguarded beach near you.
