Kyle of Lochalsh History

1994 At a meeting of the RNLI’s Executive Committee held in November it was decided that a B class inshore lifeboat station should be established at Kyle of Lochalsh in 1995 for one year’s evaluation.

1995 An inshore lifeboat station was established in April with a B class Atlantic 21 lifeboat.

1997  The Atlantic 21 lifeboat was withdrawn and the Atlantic 75 Alexander Cattanach was placed on service on 28 August.

2000 The new boathouse was completed and opened on 23 September.

2005 The station celebrated its first 10 years as a lifeboat station.
