About this station
Providing search and rescue coverage from Southerness Point to Scares Rocks, Luce Bay in the Solway Firth, a lifeboat has been based at Kirkcudbright for over 140 years. Today, the station operates an inshore B class lifeboat.

Queensferry lifeboat rescued a couple yesterday after their 14m yacht broke an engine shaft off Hound Point in the Firth of Forth.
