
RNLI's 2007 Corporate Award is presented to Wall's Ice Cream, for making beach safety fun!

From 2005 - 2007, Wall's has sponsored the RNLI’s Beach Safety Roadshow and Hit the Surf programme. These educational initiatives aim to communicate vital safety messages to children so that they are aware of the dangers before they hit the beach, and are equipped with the practical skills to stay safe.
The Beach Safety Roadshow works closely with the communities to deliver seaside safety messages to school children and increase awareness of the flag system used by RNLI lifeguards, who currently patrol 71 beaches in the UK seasonally.
Hit the Surf, an initiative developed by the RNLI in 2006 to provide more interactive education, has been a huge success. Working in small groups, children learn how best to react in a dangerous situation.
